Escher House in Second Life

Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972) is a world famous graphic artist. People will more often be familiar with his somwhat surreal drawings than his name. His most well known and loved images are those of impossible constructions. One of these is depicted in his drawing Relativity it's a marvellous construction of staircases in a building which defies what we know is possible in reality.

This amazing construction has been wonderfully re-created in Second Life by Furia Freeloader. You can walk around it, or select a pose to view yourself in one of the topsy turvey postions. another fine example of art in Second Life, and what it's possible to create or re-create.

Escher's body of work is extensive. He had an amazing talent. If you would like to know more about him, and see the range of his work visit the official M.C.Escher website.
