All of the main holidays throughout the year (Christmas, Halloween etc.) bring a great opportunity for exploring in Second Life. New builds spring up with the holiday's theme, and these seem to get better every year.
This year Linden Lab have built a great Halloween tour. You basically jump into a coffin which acts as your vehicle through a tour of a creepy, and very gory old house. It's more of a gore fest than creepy in a ghostly sense, and they give a warning at the beginning of the ride - so be prepared!
If you are not bothered by the gore it really is an excellent ride - the build is very full and detailed. As well as the Halloween ride there are other spots nearby with a Halloween theme - I've posted some pictures of these below too. If you get a chance go and visit it - it's beautifully done.
