There are a number of sims each with a different fantasy themes. It's so big I'm not sure I'll get to see all the sims, so will probably just do a couple of post about the ones that struck me most in terms of creativity or complexity.
First up is Poseidon's Abyss. It's a water themed build featuring strange creature shaped boats containing minature buildings and cars swirling around the roadways, and strange wooden looking mer-people type statues. Dotted throughout are strange ancient looking building scapes. I actually found it a touch creepy, and I don't usually get creeped out by stuff in Second Life.
It contains large dome shaped building which is the gateway to your descent into the abyss...if you choose to go there.
As you walk down the ramp your avatar starts to go underwater - I actually had reservations about continuing!...
But all was okay, nothing too scary. The end of the ramp opened up into a tunnel of water - the waves look strangely like tentacles, and ahead I could see buildings.
The atmosphere is really well done with it's mix of blueish light and the surface of the water visible above your head.
Looking down from the path I could see what looked like a ruined ship in the distance and a town below.
Following the path leads you on to a bridge to the way down. It really is a fabulous build, very unusual and you can see a lot of thought and work has gone into it.
A great feature are the sea characters, and particularly the main one, Poseidon I presume, which turns slowly in the penetrating sunlight, partially englufed in strange streams of fish.
The place is huge. There are different pathways you can take on the bridge all leading to treasure like caves and even a couple of art spaces. It's well worth a visit!
