New Linden Home Campers and Trailers on Bellisseria

Earlier this month Linden Lab rolled out the newest additions to the new homes on the continent of Bellisseria, Campers and Trailers...

These new homes were previewed at the SL16B event earlier this year which you can read about in this blog post. The Traditional houses and Houseboats released over the past few months have still been snapped up fast, leaving many Premium members 'homeless', so many have been eager for this latest style to hit the grid and provide more homes.

The release certainly didn't disappoint in terms of design and landscaping. The Moles have continued to provide beautiful regions, with variation enough to keep it all looking organic and not cut-out. Some more houseboats and traditional homes have been added too. They've added waterfalls, more waterways, and dirt paths amongst the trailers which make them really suited to horse riding or dirt bike riding. The campers and trailer areas really provide a feel of outdoor living.

The Moles have continued to add community areas in the form of log cabins and a larger center at Campwitch lodge, which I hope they will in future allow to be used as an event location, as the size is perfect. The lodge has ample room to sit and relax as well as beautiful outdoor hang out areas and boat rez zones.

As for the campers and trailers themselves there is plenty of choice with 8 styles to choose from. The land parcels are 512m sq  (as were the first gen homes) compared to 1024m sq for the traditional houses and houseboats. This might suit those who would prefer a smaller parcel with the ability to use their remaining 512 m sq to purchase land on the mainland. Pretty good idea I think.

I personally find the campers and trailers a bit cramped, but if you don't mind the small spaces they do make lovely homes if you want an outdoor living feel or just like to have lots of trees and grass around. Some of the styles have really nice large windows which open and little porch areas. My favourite, if I was to chose one to live in, would be the tiny house looking one called the Williamsburg, precisely because it does look more like a house (it even has solar panels!), but there are other more traditional looking campers if you prefer.

As with other home styles you have a choice of decor colours to choose from. There are fun touches like gas bottles and charging poles included too, and a content pack which has outside and inside decor you can add (Linden Lab content tends to be rather high in land impact though, but they could be useful items).

Another lovely feature of the new camper areas is the additional of an SLRR railway track with a few station stops and a location to rez your own train.

The tracks run right around the current regions and look like it will extend further south once those areas have been built too. It's a fun addition to the continent.  More regions are being built and there are rumours that the next theme or style will be previewed at the SL Christmas Expo, so stay tuned for more updates.
