The Stay at Home Club - Free Gifts in Challenging Times

Stay at Home is a phrase we are all too familiar with now. But in the context of Second Life, this kind of 'Stay at Home' is welcome!
There have been many examples in real life of people being so generous and thoughtful to others during this challenging time, and it's carried over into Second Life too. One small example is the Stay at Home Club in Second Life through one of the Bellisserian groups. The SHC was set up earlier this year, to kindly provide free gifts to Second Lifers amidst the COVID-19 situation. You can read more about their story in their about page.

Under the 'Gifts' section of their website you'll find different gift categories, each with a photo list of items which you can click to get the landmark. You can find home and garden items, clothing, accessories etc. and you don't need to belong to the vendor's group to get the gifts.

There are tons of free items in Second Life, so it might not seem like anything new or special. But some really nice quality items are being offered. I think the vendors really have been quite generous with items they are giving. It's a nice idea, and who doesn't like free stuff? Considering that so many people are stuck at home and might be venturing more into Second Life, or discovering it for the first time, it's a lovely gesture. Plus you can get to discover vendors you might not have come across before (if you do want to spend any money).  If you are a vendor and would like to contribute a gift you can get in touch with them via the website too.

As well as organising the free gifts they seem to also hold events, but I haven't been able to find any details anywhere about these. There is a group you can join for free, so they probably announce events through that. Check out their Youtube video for a flavour of what the club is about:

Or visit their headquarters inworld with the landmark link below to get all the information:

I had a lot of fun picking up some of the items, so thanks Stay at Home Club!
